"Momma:Key"

Skozey Fetisch CD cover Skozey Fetisch, the musical project of Mark C Jackman started out in Salt Lake City, Utah, and relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1992. He is also a visual artist who is as comfortable working with oils and canvas as computers and software to actualize his artistic vision.
Momma:Key has an experimental edge to it with strong minimalist overtones in the vein of composers such as Karlheinz Stockhausen and John Cage. The project was realized using the old school "musique concrete" techniques, which means that the entire piece was constructed using razor blades and standard cut & paste techniques on 1/4" recording tape -- a painstaking process for sure, but that didn't stop Jackman from assembling this hour-plus release by hand. The composition is a mature first outing for this young composer who draws as much inspiration from fine art as he does from the sound of construction sites.
